Description
This wonderful antique Edwardian era sterling calling card case appears
in the form of a purse. Wonderful! The case is fully engraved on the
front with curling swoops around a center shield with the monogram NL.
The back is a bevy of leaves. The lid hinges open at an angle and stays
closed nicely when the case is carried by the chain handle.
Measurements:
the case alone is approx 3-3/8” x 2” (excluding the jump rings and
hinge) x under 3/8” thick. Too small to hold a standard credit card.
The chain handle is 12-1/4” from end to end.
Weight: 40.5 grams.
Hallmarks:
CE Williams CEW maker’s mark, Birmingham anchor, lion passant for the
sterling silver content, and the 1902 date letter.
Condition: small dent on the front, a scratch on the shield, some general wear.
