Description

Early 19th century Silver calling card case.
Both sides have beautiful scenes. One side has a raised angel and a cupid unveiling an eagle on a globe. The globe is marked America.Above the eagle is engraved P.D. Craft. On the other side is a cupid with a bow on a anchor. This side has the signature W. Henigst, but you might a jewelers loop to find it. I assume that W. Henigst was an American silversmith. The background is finished on both sides in detailed repousse
scrolls and flowers.
The case is not marked sterling.Another sold listing for this identical item said they had tested it and it tested for sterling.I have not tested it, so I will say silver.
This is a beautiful antique piece!
The case is in very good condition
